With summer coming to an end, most people make it a point to squeeze in as many beach days as they can. Pick up a new book! Reading is one of the best forms of relaxation; combine that with the beach and it's a zen heaven! You could also bring school textbooks! Don't let your summer classes keep you inside; study on the beach!

A portable speaker for your iPod or iPhone could definitely come in use at the beach! The one above is the perfect size to fit in your beach bag, the neon green color really POPS and it's one of the most affordable I could find!
Forever 21 "Poolside Terrycloth Romper" - $22.80
Having a cover up is definitely top three on the list of essentials. Cover ups are great for the walk to the beach and the walk home. Also, if you're laying on the beach and want to go grab a drink or food at a store, you can just throw on your coverup and go comfortably.

You don't want to wear a really nice pair of sandals because they will get ruined and you also want to wear ones that will last through all of the sand treading. The flip flops above are the perfect mix between cute and casual for your beach day! They aren't too over the top and they would match great with any beach cover up!

We all know that carrying a beach chair is a burden that no one wants to deal with, thats why it's important to get a cute and comfy towel to lay out on! And one that will dry you off after a refreshing swim.

Last but definitely not least, you'll need something to store all of your beach essentials in! I chose the Blue Lennox Insulated Collapsable Tote from World Market because it has an insulated lining that keeps food cold or warm, whichever you prefer and I fell in love with the alluring print. It has plenty of room for food, drinks and other beach items; also, when the tote is not in use it folds up for stress free storing! A must have!
